DENSITY MEASUREMENT RESULT FOR INDUSTRIAL AIR CURTAIN
Here, density describes the reduction in air change through the door when the air curtain is on,
compared with the situation without the curtain.

Density of air curtain types
Vertical circulated air curtain blowing
80 %
Vertical air curtain blowing downwards 60 %
Vertical air curtain blowing upwards 60 %
Horizontal air curtain blowing from one side 55 %
Horizontal air curtain blowing from opposite sides 45 %

OTHER BLOWING PRINCIPLES

DOWNWARDS BLOW

  • The air jet hits the floor, cools down and turns to the indoor premises, causing heavy draught in extensive areas
  • Generates strong cool air flows in the working zone.

UPWARDS BLOW INDOORS

  • Warm blow air flows out from the top section
    of the door
  • Cool air flows down in front of the door
  • The return blow generates warmth close to floor
    level by the door

HORIZONTAL BLOW INDOORS

  • A strong jet of cooled air inside from the opposite
side of the fan to the working zone
  • Heavy flows in the working zone
  • Prevents activities in various traffic situations
  • Warm indoor air flows out
  • Disturbing dust and snow flows

BLOW FROM OPPOSITE SIDES INDOORS

  • Cold air flows through to the working zone
    from between the air jets
  • Heavy air mixing and heat loss by the door
  • Difficult to control the air jets without
    special solutions (stability)
